We are looking for a Direct Support Professional to join our team and provide support to individuals with disabilities. Our DSP team assists clients with daily living skills such as self-care, meal prep, transportation, socialization, individualized service plan documentation, and medication support. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to think on your feet, and a commitment to helping individuals reach their full potential.
The following functions are performed as a 1st and 2nd Shift Caregiver as a DSP at our CRS homes:
Program Implementation and Safety:
Implement program plans and individual abuse prevention plans, ensuring all required communication, documentation, and follow-up.
Personal Care Assistance:
Assist and prompt residents to maintain good dressing, grooming, and bathing habits, primarily handled during the 1st or 2nd shift, with minimal involvement during the 3rd shift.
Medication Management:
Administer medications set up by the RN/pharmacist, including those for residents who may have been absent during earlier shifts or require PRN (as-needed) administration.
Meal and Snack Preparation:
Prepare basic meals and snacks, including monitoring fluid intake as directed by management, mainly during the 1st and 2nd shifts.
Health and Safety Maintenance:
Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy living environment through effective health and sanitary practices, with an emphasis on recognizing and handling emergencies and immediate health and safety concerns.
Observation and Documentation:
Observe and document client care, noting any changes in body functioning or behavior, and maintain accurate records as directed by supervisors.
Resident Support:
Work with residents who have physical, emotional, or psychological needs, providing support through listening, responding, and documenting their state of mind or behavior as necessary.
Transportation:
Provide resident transportation when requested by management.
Exercise Reminders:
Remind residents to exercise, if applicable.
Laundry Assistance:
Provide assistance with laundry, including personal items, bed linens, and towels.
Appointments and Communication:
1st Shift: Notify clients of all appointments for the day.
2nd Shift: Inform clients of their appointments for the following day, if applicable.
3rd Shift: Check in with clients at the beginning of each shift to ensure their needs are met.
Meeting Participation:
Attend mandatory staff meetings and provide necessary updates or reports.
3rd Shift (Sleeping Overnight shifts) Caregivers work overnight hours when clients are typically sleeping. Each client at Inspire Services has unique needs, which may warrant attention during the nighttime hours.
Inspire Services, LLC supports the concept that the facilities operated are the clients' homes and should be treated as such.
Shift Structure
1st Shift: 7:00am-3:00pm
2nd Shift: 2:00pm-9:00pm
3rd Shift: 9:00pm-7:00am
