Business Office Assistant

Heritage Hall Wise is currently recruiting for a full time Business Office Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to assist with a variety of business office duties in a busy 94 bed nursing facility.

Job Summary

The Business Office Assistant is responsible for accounts payable transactions, serves as the resident fund custodian, and assist the Business Office Manager with various accounts receivable duties. The Business Office Assistant also serves as the facility Receptionist.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Resident Fund Custodian and manage the resident fund account.
  • Process all facility accounts payable invoices/transactions.
  • Answer the telephone and greet visitors.
  • Assist the Business Office Manager with Accounts Receivable duties, including verifying insurance benefits, processing the daily census, and following up on outstanding accounts.
  • Serve as a backup for other AR activity in the Business Office Manager's absence.
  • Comply fully with American HealthCare's Code of Conduct and HIPAA policies.

Business Office Assistant Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Human Resource and Business Office Experience preferred, but willing to train the right person
  • Must be a notary or eligible to become a notary
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of general office procedures
  • Ability to operate office equipment
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and execute time management
  • Must be able to travel as necessary for training and meetings
  • Must have strong verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to communicate with a wide variety of individuals
