Electrical Design Engineer (Engineering)
What you will do:
The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the electronic design and development of battery management systems and components for low voltage battery systems. This position performs design, testing, and verification activities to ensure all requirements and development processes are satisfied.
How you will do it:
Define electrical requirements by reviewing customer specifications, industry/regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, UL), and internal guidelines to ensure compliance and performance.
Conduct requirement analysis & validation planning, including DFMEAs, simulations, and test strategies tailored to project-specific needs.
Design and verify electrical systems (PCBA, sensors, Flex PCBs) through schematic capture, simulation tools, and testing to meet cost, mass, and efficiency targets.
Develop hardware/software interfaces by collaborating with embedded teams to define test software requirements and integration protocols.
Optimize vehicle-level EMC/electrical performance using analysis tools and testing to balance energy efficiency, volume, and reliability.
Validate designs by reviewing test results, generating compliance reports, and ensuring alignment with customer and regulatory criteria.
What we look for:
Required:
BSEE from accredited four-year college or university.
5-9 years of professional engineering experience in related field
Experience with schematic capture, for example Altium, is required
Experience with electronic circuit debug, test, and simulation tools are required
Experience with requirement management tools, for example Doors or Jama is required
Preferred:
OE Automotive/Tier 1 experience with powertrain systems/components is desired
Experience with Lithium-Ion battery systems is desired
Solid communication and organizational skills
Good computer skills (Microsoft Office Suites)
