Assoc Dir, Law Library (Finance)
The Associate Director also works to strengthen the library's relationships within the Law Center, the University, and the broader professional community. The position may also include teaching responsibilities, law school service, scholarship, and additional administrative duties.
Candidates must hold both a JD from an ABA-accredited law school and an MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited library or information science program and should demonstrate potential for success as teachers, researchers, and future members of the UH and the Law Center's broader community. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in academic law librarianship and a demonstrated facility for law library administrative work.
Successful candidates must demonstrate an ability to work and communicate effectively with a variety of groups. Competitive candidates should have demonstrated organizational and leadership abilities and experience with and interest in emerging information technologies.
The Associate Director reports to the Director of the Law Library.
The Associate Director of the Law Library is a librarian position. Librarians hold academic rank pursuant to the University of Houston Librarians' Bylaws. They are expected to develop a record of service, scholarship, and professional involvement. The UH Libraries support the ongoing professional development of librarians, and our goal is to recruit librarians committed to continuous learning.
