Admissions Recruitment and Special Projects Coordinator
Position Information: Coordinates and carries out new and existing projects or assignments and performs advanced level administrative support duties. Supports leadership ensuring successful outcomes of projects and assignments are completed in a timely manner.
This position will work primarily on admission and recruitment activities and contribute to health professions outreach programming, pathway education events and other programs of the SCM Student Services Office and community and campus partners.
Work with multiple campus and community partners to develop, plan and help facilitate clubs, meetings, workshops, interview days and other events for targeted high school, undergraduate and current medical and PA students. This position must be able to supervise student's volunteers and participants, as well as ensure compliance to university policies.
The ideal candidate for this position will have strong interpersonal and public speaking skills and have a passion for education. Experience in medical or professional education is a plus.
Essential Duties:
-Develop and maintain relationships with statewide premed/prehealth advisors.
-Present at premed club meetings at local universities, attend career/graduate fairs at local, state and regional colleges and universities. Some evening hours with these.
-SCM Info Sessions: Every other month in the evening. Present info and facilitate q&a with current students
-Develop annual recruitment plan with Director
-Organize MD Admissions Interview and Visit Days: schedule interviews, schedule faculty interviewers, communicate with applicants, coordinate student volunteers, room scheduling, parking passes, work with admin staff to coordinate catering and other logistics.
-Maintain social media plan
-Work with current students and faculty to promote the SCM through web and social media
-Serve as co-advisor to (SCMCA) School of Community Medicine Ambassadors program
-MASH Camp- 2 weeks during the summer Work with partners and MASH teacher to develop and execute curriculum. Scheduling, logistics, on site during the 2 weeks.
-Club Scrubs- Every other week evening during the school year. Support student coordinators, schedule speakers, develop activities, follow up and tracking.
-Help with supporting Grant Funded “Catalyst” Premed Program
-Assist with a variety of other pathway programs
-Summer Internship: 6 weeks during the summer. Significant planning and coordination of intern schedules, speakers, shadowing, community service, research, and more. Interns serve as staff during MASH camp.
-Support other major and minor projects and events as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Education: Bachelor's degree, AND:
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.
