Research & Development Technician (R&D)
What can I expect in this role?
In this position, you will work Full Time, Monday through Friday normal business hours.
Some key duties in this role include:
Performs basic microbiology techniques including microbial culture, enumeration, isolation, and identification using traditional and rapid methods. Conducts antimicrobial/antifungal susceptibility testing in accordance with established guidelines. Conducts specialized projects (MIC testing, resistance development, time-kill assays, test method evaluation, etc.) with supervision. Performs basic molecular biology techniques including PCR, gel electrophoresis, nucleic acid quantitation, cloning, nucleic acid isolation. Documents research accurately according to policies and procedures. Follows applicable SOPs/guidelines during conduct of research.Writes or reviews new department SOPs/update existing department SOPs as necessary.
Perform maintenance per General Maintenance Schedule when applicable. May serve as support staff on other projects during periods of high demand. Perform other duties as assigned by senior staff. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.Observe all company policies, rules, and safety practices.

Here is what we are looking for:
Four (4) year degree in relevant field (e.g., biology, microbiology, virology, cell biology molecular biology, food science) At least 1 year hands-on experience working with bacteria and/or fungi. Knowledgeable on aseptic technique. Knowledgeable with formulations and basic chemistry techniques. Familiar with basic molecular biology techniques (cloning, PCR, primer design, etc.).The ability to pass a background check and drug screening
