Welder (Manufacturing)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform TIG and MIG Welding. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, or guides using measuring instruments and hand tools. Operate welding equipment, regulate current and voltage or gas and feed rate for proper fusion of metals. Select electrode type and size or wire size and type appropriate for metal and welding application. Able to read complex blueprints. Able to perform quality checks of work. Experience in following work instructions and procedures. Inspect part prior to fit and ensure proper alignment. Ensure orientation of part is correct. Visually inspect part prior to fitting to ensure proper conformance. Visually inspect joint for cleanliness and depth. Fit parts, while keeping within specification. Able to successfully obtain AWS welder certification within 30 days. Ability to safely operate overhead crane and forklift equipment.Ability to acquire AWS certifications during training.All other duties as assigned.
