Are you a sophomore interested in learning more about technology careers with a leading asset management firm? Would you like to get a jump start on 2026 summer internship recruiting while networking with leaders at a Fortune 100 company? PGIM Fixed Income will host a 2-day sophomore externship in May 2025 to educate students on its asset management business and offer the opportunity to be considered for our software engineering and data & analytics internship programs!

Program Overview:
PGIM Fixed Income will host a 2-day externship on May 20th and 21st at our Newark, NJ headquarters. During the sophomore externship we'll be showcasing our 2 technology focused internship programs, both part of our Technology Solutions Group (TSG). PGIM Fixed Income's Technology Solutions Group is a dedicated technology solutions provider to PGIM Fixed Income's business units. The work done within TSG enables our assets managers, client representatives, and investment professionals to quickly scale their ability to meet our clients' needs around the globe.
We hire summer interns both on the software engineering side of TSG, as well as our data & analytics side. All of our internships have the opportunity to lead into our full-time rotational programs post-college graduation (Summer 2027). Our Externs will engage in various business/program overviews, technical case studies, job shadowing, and networking during the program. Transportation and lodging will be provided for any Externs selected who are not local to our headquarters. At the conclusion of the program students will be able to interview for a 2026 internship within 1 of our 2 TSG programs:
Software Engineering Internship:
Software Engineering: Our Software Engineers use a variety of programming languages and development platforms, both cloud and on-prem, to build and optimize enterprise solutions. We pride ourselves in being able to quickly take idea to delivered Proof of Concept. We then iterate with our business stakeholders to provide global solutions at scale. We adhere to a controlled software development lifecycle (SDLC) that emphasizes efficiency and time to market.
Data & Analytics Internship:
Data Analytics: Our data analytics platform is a comprehensive system designed to collect, store, process, analyze, and visualize data related to financial assets and investments. Our data platform consists of on-prem data platforms like SQL Server as well as cloud data platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Tableau, and other data integration services. TSG data engineers are responsible for tasks such as collecting and ingesting data from various sources, transforming and processing it to ensure quality and consistency, and storing it in databases or data warehouses. TSG data engineers work with data to extract insights and make informed decisions using predictive modeling, data mining, or optimizing business processes based on data-driven insights. Responsibilities may include collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data using various tools and techniques such as data analytics principles, machine learning, and data visualization to solve real-world problems and contributing to organizational decision-making processes.

Candidate Requirements:
Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree program graduating between December 2026 and May 2027
We are open to any major, however our preferred majors are focused in a technical field, applied or pure science. All candidates who have shown aptitude in at least one programming language listed below will be considered
Preferred understanding of one of the following languages, technology stacks and or data tools: Java, C++, Python, .Net (VB, C#, ASP), JavaScript, SQL, Batch Scripting, Splunk, ETL, Tableau, PowerBI
Preferred understanding of Object-Oriented design concepts, data structures, and algorithms
Minimum GPA of 3.0 required
