Title: Payroll Analyst
Location: Corporate - Beaverton, OR
Job Summary:
The Payroll Analyst will prepare and process payroll, create payroll reports, and maintain employee records. This role will also analyze payroll data and ensure compliance with company policies as well as government regulations.
Essential Position Functions:
• Prepare and process bi-weekly payrolls.
• Analyze, prepare, and enter adjustments when required, i.e., incorrect state or federal taxation, retroactive adjustments, repayment of advances, etc.
• Reconcile payroll bank account to reissue checks and report unclaimed property.
• Develop workflows and user guides/documentation to maintain consistency in payroll processing.
• Administer PTO and other related time off programs in accordance with company policies.
• Complete historical leave and pay corrections for employees on leave, such as Family Medical Leave, Disability Leave, California Paid Medical Leave, etc.
• Support the testing, validation, and implementation of new applications, including configuration, integration, and ongoing administration.
• Reconcile tax deposits and quarterly and annual reporting (940 & 941, W-2's, etc).
• Perform timely state and local tax registrations as needed.
• Create and maintain quarter end and year end checklists and documentation.
• Perform audits related to timekeeping, taxes, etc. in compliance with government regulations.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports and maintain reports in a shared location.
• Serve as a resource for support, training, mentoring, and guidance for HRIS applications.
• Provide excellent customer service to employees and managers.
• Create automated processes, reducing manual tasks and ensuring highest level of efficiency.
• Perform special projects and other related duties, as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma and at least 5 years of payroll experience. HRIS experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group, formerly UltiPro Software) and UKG Workforce Dimensions timekeeping system is preferred. CPP certification is preferred. Multi-state payroll experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong knowledge of US federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including payroll taxes and reporting, is required.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a solid attention to detail.
• Intermediate skills with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Excellent written/verbal/interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
• Office Environment.
• Repetitive hand, wrist, and finger activities.
• Based on business needs, position may require occasional overtime or non-standard hours.
Exempt only: This position is eligible for a bonus based on company goals/performance.
