Position Summary
The Software Commissioning Specialist (SCS) manages the commissioning process for solar tracker control systems, ensuring proper integration and validation during construction. Reporting to the Software Commissioning Manager, the role involves configuring, troubleshooting, and validating networked devices while ensuring software functionality. The SCS works closely with the Commissioning & Controls Project Manager (CCPM) for project updates, meets commissioning milestones, conducts remote testing, and produces final quality reports. Collaboration with software and project teams is key to refining processes, troubleshooting, and optimizing system performance. Strong technical skills and attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute remote commissioning tasks, including device configuration, software updates, and system validation.
Maintain communication with the Commissioning & Controls Project Manager (CCPM) for real-time project status updates.
Troubleshoot and resolve networked device/system issues in collaboration with technical teams.
Map project data in the cloud, associating networked devices with project sites.
Support remote testing and verify system responsiveness during project phases.
Generate and submit commissioning reports, ensuring compliance with system specifications.
Document commissioning activities and system configurations for future reference.
Assist in improving commissioning workflows and drive automation efforts.
Contribute to customer support by addressing technical inquiries related to commissioning.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Experience: 2-5 years in commissioning or networked control systems.
Skills:
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with system configuration, software updates, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with cloud-based tools and basic networking concepts.
Proficient in technical documentation and reporting.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Occasional site visits may require navigating uneven terrain.
