Position Overview
The Senior Data Architect is a key position within the Data Management team. The primary responsibility of this role will be to design, implement and manage complex data streaming architectures using Apache Kafka and Confluent technologies.
What You'll Do
Lead the solution design and implementation of robust data-led integration architectures using Confluent Kafka, NoSQL databases, and SQL Server Data Warehouse ensuring scalability, performance, and strong security.
Design and implement data streaming pipelines using Kafka and its ecosystem.
Architecting and designing for a ground-up build of a Confluent Kafka platform for the enterprise.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to Kafka Implementations and assist in estimation and scoping of all Kafka implementations.
Ensure data quality and consistency across streaming data pipelines.
Implement security best practices for Kafka, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
Lead onshore/offshore team members.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 7+ years' experience or master's degree with 5+ years' experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or other quantitative field.
5+ years of experience as a data engineer, with a focus on Kafka and streaming technologies and leading complex Kafka implementation projects with minimum 2+ hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka Platform.
At least 3 years of architectural experience with Kafka, having successfully led streaming solutions for multiple enterprise initiatives including offset management, partition strategy, and DR requirements
Expertise in designing and developing real-time stream processing applications using Kafka Streams/kSQL. Strong experience in designing, building, and configuring Kafka event clients, brokers, topics, producers, consumers.
Strong experience with using Kafka Connect to build connectors that facilitate data movement between Kafka and other systems. Experience with designing and creating end-to-end streaming data pipelines, where data is ingested, processed, and stored in real-time, ensuring data consistency and latency requirements.

Compensation
The estimated salary range for this role is $98,000 - $132,000, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills and experience.
