Administrative Assistant (6-month Seasonal Position) (Finance)

SUMMARY:The position will provide administrative support in an organized, friendly, and professional manner for the Natural Areas department. The position requires independentjudgement and decision making.
ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The following duties and responsibilities areillustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended tobe all inclusive.
Provides administrative duties, including:
-Interact positively, work cooperatively, and communicate effectively with community members, partners and staff to deliver the highest level of customer service
-Assist with inquiries, contracting, event setup and payment tracking for public use facilities
-Collaborate with Business Support team to provide on-site customer service for office staff and community members
-Performs data entry by maintaining and updating files, records, web pages and databases
-Process incoming/outgoing mail, invoices, checks, and deliveries
-Monitors and orders office supply inventories
-Troubleshoot IT assets such as conference equipment and printers
-Review Documents for accuracy and route for signatures
-Maintain and interpret records, logs, reports, and calendars
-Provide other administrative duties on an as needed basis
-Other special projects as assigned

City Competencies
EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)required plus a minimum of one year customer serviceexperience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGESKILLS:
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safetyrules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
-Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
-Ability to speak effectively to customers oremployees of organization.
REASONINGABILITY:
-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry outinstructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
-Ability to deal with problems reasonably andeffectively.
CERTIFICATES,LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver's license preferred.
PHYSICALDEMANDS:The physicaldemands described here are representative of those that must be met by anemployee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee isregularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The demands on the visual sensemay be very high. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reachwith hands and arms. The employee isoccasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
WORKENVIRONMENT: The workenvironment characteristics described here are representative of those anemployee would encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is predominantly performed in an officesetting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
