Overnight Operations Manager I (Finance)

The Operations Manager is responsible for the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the facility has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiencies.

A Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of warehouse functions to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations. This role involves managing the movement, storage, and distribution of goods, as well as supervising warehouse staff, implementing operational strategies, and ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations. This position plays a key role in driving improvements in warehouse productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction. Job Responsibilities:
• Direct and manage facility operations by implementing cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries; managing capital asset maintenance, controlling and minimizing operating expenses and maintaining existing facilities and equipment; replacing or adjusting warehouse facilities and equipment when necessary
• Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes to allow company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, and business goals and objectives; and assumes responsibility for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes by providing timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the warehouse as required
• Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel, designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization while motivating and leading a high-performance management team; attracting, recruiting, and retaining required members of the team as needed; providing mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program
• Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the warehouse
• Work to develop and maintain productive business relations with vendors, suppliers, and all business partners
• Conducts performance appraisals by providing measurable feedback to assigned personnel and suggestions for improved performance as well as formulating and implementing employee corrective actions as needed
• Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws, as well as all company policies; perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location; and ensure that OSHA requirements are effectively implemented

Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications:
• BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred; can be substituted for experience
• Forklift or Reach lift Certification preferred
Knowledge:
• Excellent understanding of inventory control and management procedures
• Understanding of Company operations
• Knowledge of budgeting, supply contracts, and shipping requirements
Experience:
• Five or more years of related experience, with at least two or more years of management experience leading direct report supervisors
Skills/ Abilities:
• Excellent leadership abilities
• Able to organize, coordinate, and direct team activities
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good communications abilities
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available
• Able to use all related maintenance equipment and computer applications
Work Environment:
• This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office
Physical Environment/Demands:
• Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
• Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
• Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday
• Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently
• Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation
• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures
• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work-related equipment
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
