Manager Strategic Sourcing (Project Management)

We are seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Manager of Strategic Sourcing to lead sourcing activities across specific categories and drive cost-effective and efficient procurement strategies. The ideal candidate will oversee activities such as strategic sourcing, global sourcing, supplier consolidation, specification changes and consolidation, and negotiating critical supply terms. Once these initiatives are developed and concluded, the Manager will transition the execution of new agreements, terms, and specifications to the Procurement Director, who will then take over the responsibilities for ongoing supply, obligations management, supplier relationship, supplier performance evaluation.

• Strategic Sourcing Leadership:

1. Lead the strategic sourcing initiatives for designated categories, ensuring alignment with the company's overall procurement goals and objectives.
2. Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies, considering factors such as cost, quality, and supplier qualification, to ensure best-in-class solutions.

• Supplier Consolidation and Specification Management:

1. Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation to streamline the supply base and enhance efficiency.
2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to consolidate and standardize product and service specifications across categories.
3. Implement changes to specifications as needed, to leverage cost reduction and procurement efficiency, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal impact on operations.

• Contract Negotiations & Supply Terms:

1. Lead negotiations with suppliers on critical contract terms, including consignment agreements, payment terms, productivity cost reductions, and other commercial terms.
2. Ensure that all negotiated terms align with company objectives and result in cost savings, risk mitigation, and optimized supplier relationships.

• Transition of Implementation to Procurement Director:

1. Ensure a seamless transition of the negotiated agreements, specifications, and supply terms to the Procurement Director for implementation.
2. Provide detailed documentation and support to the Procurement Director to facilitate the ongoing management of suppliers, including supplier relationship management and performance evaluation.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:

1. Work closely with key internal stakeholders, including Finance, Operations, Legal, and technical teams, to gather input, define requirements, and ensure alignment with business goals.
2. Ensure consistent communication with the Procurement Director and other leaders to maintain visibility on progress and results.

• Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction:

1. Continuously assess sourcing strategies and seek opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and risk management.
2. Track and report on savings and performance metrics related to strategic sourcing activities.

• Market Intelligence & Trends:

1. Stay informed on market trends, new supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to drive innovation and competitive advantage in sourcing and procurement.

Education and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier management.
• People Leadership experience
• Expertise in contract negotiation, supplier consolidation, and cost reduction strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex sourcing challenges.
• Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong project management abilities with a track record of successfully transitioning initiatives to implementation.
• Proficiency in procurement tools and software, with an understanding of supply chain management best practices.
