RN, Perioperative Services (Healthcare)
GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess and develop individualized care plans for patients in all perioperative phases (pre-surgery, during surgery, and post-anesthesia recovery).
Provide patient education regarding procedures, pain management, wound care, and recovery expectations.
Administer medications and monitor patients for stability, ensuring comfort and safety.
Perform surgical site safety checks, prevent surgical complications, and maintain infection control practices.
Monitor patients' vital signs and recovery from anesthesia, applying appropriate interventions when needed.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
Document all nursing care in the electronic health record, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring privacy, dignity, and patient rights are upheld.
Participate in quality improvement projects and pursue ongoing professional development.
AREAS AVAILABLE:
Pre-op: Prepare patients for surgery, including assessments, IV initiation, and ensuring informed consent.OR Circulator: Protect patients during surgical procedures, ensuring correct site identification, specimen handling, and patient safety.PACU: Monitor and support patients in recovery, manage acute pain, and assist in post-operative care.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: N/A
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma.
Bachelors degree, preferred.
Current registered nurse licensure in Arkansas.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Two years perioperative services experience, preferred.
Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word)

Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.
Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.
