The Role The HR Manager will support the mission and core values of Peterman all while being responsible for applying business knowledge and human resources expertise. The HR Manager will develop, coordinate and offer guidance on compensation, safety, labor relations, benefits, performance management, employee relations and HR best practices all while facilitating a positive relationship amongst our team. What You'll Do Writes directives advising department managers of Company policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, and employee benefits.Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.Develops and delivers presentations to Executive Team regarding human resources policies and practices.Works with Talent Team regarding new employee onboarding and orientation.Keeps records of benefits plan participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.Updates and maintains the employee handbook.Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.Serve as backup to the payroll team and assist with payroll related tasks and escalationsInvestigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier (Workman's Compensation and Auto accidents).Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover. Maintains PTO policyMaintains unemployment claimsMaintains and educates employees throughout the year regarding benefits, understand of company policy.Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations if needed.Being a motivated and collaborative team player with a strong drive to create a positive working environment through effective hiring. What You'll Need Proven work experience as an HR Generalist or HRBP. aPHR, PHR, or SPHR Certification Ability to prioritize and complete projects within deadline. Must understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.Strong knowledge of HR Policies, Employment Law and Benefit Administration. Be detail oriented and a highly organized multi-tasker with good presentation skills and the ability to convey confident and decisive messages in a fast-paced and goal-driven environment.Be proficient using a computer and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
