Assistant Production Manager (Manufacturing)
Position Summary:
The Assistant Production Manager at Locke Solutions supports the daily operations of our precast production facilities by working closely with the Production Manager and other team leads. This role plays a key part in ensuring schedules are met, quality standards are upheld, and production processes are executed efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will be eager to grow into a leadership role, bringing energy, organization, and problem-solving skills to the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in coordinating production schedules to meet deadlines and customer delivery expectations.Monitor daily production activities to ensure efficiency, safety, and product quality.Collaborate with supervisors and team leads to manage workforce scheduling and task assignments.Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying and addressing process inefficiencies.Help maintain inventory control and material management in alignment with production plans.Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.Contribute to training and onboarding efforts for production employees.Prepare and maintain accurate reports on production metrics and performance.Serve as a liaison between production teams and other departments including quality, engineering, and logistics.
Key Results:
Maintain production output aligned with daily and weekly targets.Minimize production downtime and improve scheduling accuracy.Support a safe and efficient work environment by following and reinforcing safety procedures.Improve coordination and communication across production teams.Track and report key production KPIs and assist with root-cause analysis of variances.
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelors degree in Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems.Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility over time.Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
