Specialist, Lead SCADA Systems (Engineering)

The Lead SCADA Systems Specialist provides critical SCADA System Administration and programming and support duties for the EPCO SCADA department.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking a Lead role, under the direction of the existing management, in the following efforts:
· Software development, testing, administration, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting support of…
· An in-house developed SCADA system along with associated services, tools, utilities, and reports including third-party software integrated into the system.
· Software written to enhance or otherwise support third party SCADA systems including in-house developed utilities, tools, services and layered applications and scripts.
· Various tools, utilities and web-based and reporting services utilized primarily within the SCADA and Pipeline Operations departments.
· Following best practices and group procedures and methodologies in association with development, testing, maintenance and documentation of all software development activities.
· Microsoft SQL Server database administration, programming, and scripting.
· Generating user documents and training documents associated with supported software and performing training as required.
· Generation and maintenance of procedures, how-to's, trouble-shooting tips, and help files associated with all supported software.
· Meet with and provide architectural guidance to internal customers to determine functional requirements for software development solutions and generate formal documentation thereof.
· Interface with third-party vendors in support of all hardware and software the SCADA Applications group is or may be responsible for.
· Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
· Be able to travel up to 10%
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
· High School diploma or GED is required.
· Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or at least 3 years of programming experience is preferred.
· 5+ years of programming experience with .Net and C# required.
· 5 + years programming in one or more of the following is preferred: Windows Forms (Winforms); Windows Services; Microsoft SQL Server; Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF/XAML); Windows Communications Foundation (WCF) as well as experience with Microsoft SQL Server database design and administration.
· 3+ years of experience in a SCADA environment is preferred, especially experience with AVEVA Enterprise SCADA and/or OASyS DNA.
· Thorough understanding of Threading, .Net framework, application performance and Microsoft SQL Server is strongly desired.
· Proficiency with architecting software solutions.
· Ability to work in a small team environment, sometimes under stress.
· Ability to communicate well and quickly trouble-shoot problems.
· Knowledge of fundamentals of networking is desired.
· Experience in administration and support of Windows-based PCs and servers is also desirable.
· Ability to interact and communicate professionally with customers, co-workers and management, both verbally and in writing.
· Ability to juggle competing priorities, multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment and share information, ideas, and resources with other individuals, teams, internal customers and business stakeholders.
· While at times training will be provided, candidates must be willing to spend time learning new things and keeping their skills up to date.
