OR Implant Inventory Coordinator (Finance)

Nemours is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated perioperative implant coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth efficient operation of tissue procurement and collaboration with surgical teams.

This position ensures compliance with all applicable regulations regarding implants and human tissue procured for implantation. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a quality management plan so that all policies, procedures, and records that pertain to implants and human tissue are compliant with applicable regulatory standards. Responsibilities include cooperation/collaboration with approved vendors of implants and human tissues that are procured for implantation, ensuring process control of ordering, receiving, storage, inventory, and returns. Compliance with quality assurance audits, review of quality control results, and reporting of deviations and/or adverse events with corresponding escalation are additional requirements of the position.

This primary position at NCH, Delaware, will include collaboration with the NCH, Surgery Center, Bryn Mawr, PA and NCH, Surgery Center, Deptford, NJ to optimize available resources in achieving optimal patient outcomes. This position may require periodic rotation to the ambulatory surgery centers. Travel is compensated based on organizational policy.

This position requires Pennsylvania Clearances to include FBI Fingerprint Report, PA Criminal Background Record, & PA Child Abuse Clearance.

This position requires working shifts aligned with the needs of the department and the assigned FTE of the surgical technologist. This position also includes on-call and holiday requirements based on the needs of the department.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing and maintaining a quality management plan for human tissue in cooperation with the Clinical Laboratory.

Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement to include identification of opportunities to improve services through recommendations and action planning as appropriate and consistent with Nemours goals and strategies.

Responsible for cooperation and collaboration with qualified implant and human tissue vendors aligned with Nemours verification and approval process.

Responsible for development and periodic review/revision of implant and human tissue policies/procedures.

Responsible for development and maintenance of quality assurance and quality control measures for implants and human tissue.

Responsible for documentation, management, and notification of adverse outcomes, returns, and outdated implants and/or human tissue.

Responsible for associate education regarding implant and human tissue processes to include Tissue Management System.

Responsible for accurate ordering, receiving, storage, inventory management, and returns of all implants aligned with established processes to include electronic management and reconciliation, escalation of stock outs, back orders, and shortages of implants and/or human tissue.

Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual audits of inventory to ensure accurate accounting for all implants and par level maintenance.

Qualifications:

• PA Clearances: FBI Fingerprint Report, PA Criminal Background Record, & PA Child Abuse Clearance
• American Heart Association BLS required
• High school diploma required
