This role to be located in either Chicago, IL, or Neenah, WI and as the Senior Paralegal, Adult & Feminine Care, you'll provide paralegal services focused primarily on marketing and advertising law and lend support across a wide range of sophisticated legal, business, and strategic matters, including commercial transactions. You'll implement assigned projects independently, take initiative and find creative solutions in this exciting role.
In this role you will:
Serve as a key point of contact for all marketing and advertising legal matters related to Poise, Depend, U by Kotex, Liv, and Thinx brands, providing sound, pragmatic guidance on a wide range of matters to facilitate delivery of business results
Provide ongoing support for the business's multi-channel marketing and advertising initiatives as directed by legal counsel, helping to drive and enable business strategy with respect to innovation and marketing and advertising claims development and substantiation
Identify risks and opportunities relating to marketing and advertising strategies and campaigns for business clients and other stakeholders
Review marketing, advertising, promotional materials, and packaging-related materials to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, KCNA Legal guidelines, and corporate policies
Identify and participate in educational opportunities, including webinars, on legal developments impacting consumer packaged-goods products, including developments at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) relevant to marketing and advertising, and in the areas of claim substantiation, endorsements and testimonials, social governance, and sustainability claims
Help support advertising and consumer protection-related disputes (including false advertising, National Advertising Division (NAD) challenges, FTC matters, Lanham Act actions, and class actions) as well as other claims and regulatory inquiries
Work closely with Kimberly-Clark's regulatory team responsible for advising the business on all aspects of regulatory compliance for products regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Health Canada, including with respect to product development, marketing strategies, and day-to-day compliance activities
Provide paralegal support for M&A and strategic transaction initiatives
Work with Kimberly-Clark's intellectual property team to identify legal issues related to licensing, marketing, trademarks, trade secrets, patents and other intellectual property
Conduct legal research
Assist in developing and maintaining knowledge resources relating to marketing and commercial best practices, helping to create and provide training and designing processes to enhance the management and protection of Kimberly-Clark's brands and businesses as well as drive and promote a comprehensive and effective compliance and ethics culture
Assist in retaining a strong team with diverse experiences and perspectives
Collaborate and be a strong team member of KCNA's legal team and Kimberly-Clark's global legal team
This role reports to the Assistant General Counsel, Adult & Feminine Care, Kimberly-Clark North America Personal Care.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
Paralegal certificate - or - bachelor's degree
5+ years' experience in handling marketing and advertising-related legal matters, including claims development and substantiation, advertising issues and advertising compliance reviews
Proficiency researching and interpreting applicable federal, state, and local laws related to advertising and marketing, particularly with respect to the FTC, FDA, and NAD
Strong organizational skills with careful attention to details
Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence business teams to deliver results while managing risk to the enterprise, as well as interpersonal and communication skills
Results orientation with a clear passion for winning, integrity and a desire to implement lasting, positive improvements
The position typically functions independently and requires judgment concerning when and to what extent to secure guidance or assistance from other legal team members or otherwise within Kimberly-Clark
Preferred:
Experience in a CPG, consumer retail, e-commerce, and/or manufacturing environment
Experience working with the FTC and/or in a regulated products industry, especially those products regulated by the FDA, CPSC or Health Canada

Salary Range: $101,000–$125,000 USD
