Based in the USA this position will be responsible for analyzing and improving existing processes while playing a key role in driving better productivity and cost effectiveness across the organization. Role will include identifying and implementing changes to improve manufacturing, facility layout, and system performance while maintaining or improving safety, quality, and customer service. The Industrial Engineer will create, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing systems, that will reduce costs while improving standards of operations. The Industrial Engineer will also work to set initial manufacturing standards and work with the finance team to establish product cost. To be successful candidate this role requires an understanding of manufacturing process along with their associated equipment and tooling. A strong background using Lean Practices in defining process flow and work area layouts is necessary. This role will be at the forefront of developing new production standards and improving current standards for Colson. Key Areas of Responsibility:Evaluating production costs, identifying areas for cost reduction, and developing cost-saving strategiesDetermine how to manufacture parts or products, or deliver services, with maximum efficiencyDrive continuous improvement in key processes; at distribution centers and manufacturing locationsLeverage Lean principles to drive the design and execution of new manufacturing processes, methodologies, and equipment layouts to improve overall equipment effectiveness and material flow.Identifies and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutionsCollaborates with senior engineers to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and building ergonomics for new product linesEstablish a common system of engineered standards to be applied globally for established manufacturing labor standards. Standards based on widely accepted manufacturing standards systems like MTM (motion time measurements)Establish common standards for specifying, quoting and purchasing machinery and tooling to facilitate commonality in like machinery, tooling and practices to be executed.Work with product engineering and the manufacturing site to create Bill of Operations Accountable to acquire and manage the associated capital equipment for new or existing manufacturing solutions from conception through to formal production handoff at the selected operation locationsMaintain communication with all team members and leadership team to ensure direct and timely closure to all projects
