SUMMARY: Responsible for coordinating and supporting customer transportation business requirements by developing and managing both carrier and customers to ensure requirements are met.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicate with shippers, consignees, vendors, agents, etc. to effectively manage each shipment. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards. Monitor customer shipments and the quality control of carrier and performance. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in business, transportation or a related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 1 year or less experience in truck dispatching import/export transportation, customer service, negotiations or other related experience.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.
COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment. Ability to gather, interpret, report and use data and other information concerning assigned activities. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team. Skilled in preparing clear and concise documents, including but not limited to reports, procedures, correspondences and other written materials. Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of import forwarding and customs brokerage in a domestic and/or international capacity.
OTHER: Travel may be required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
